If you are a person who has suffered an addiction to drugs or alcohol and you are ready to get out of that downward spiral of drugs, alcohol and homelessness then you need to know some of the advantages and disadvantages of  Drug Detox and alcohol rehab treatment. The truth is that there are many advantages to getting treatment for an addiction, as well as many disadvantages, but the truth of the matter is that it can make all the difference in the world. When it comes to your health, finances and self-esteem; any positive step towards recovery is a step in the right direction.



In order to be successful at rehab treatment, you have to be in an early stage of addiction. Being late is not an advantage because you need to take action early to stop using drugs and alcohol and to bring about long term sobriety. Not only that, but being late is also a disadvantage because of the fact that you will have to pay the price for being late when you come out of treatment.

As you can imagine, the disadvantages of being late for your rehab treatment are significant, but it is important to remember that being late makes the overall success rate higher for the treatment center. Having no means of communication with the treatment center is another disadvantage, but it does not mean that the process cannot be successful if the patient has access to outside help. Therefore, it is important that the patient has the means to make the journey to and from the treatment center with their family members and friends.

Another disadvantage that you face when you use drugs or alcohol is that the detoxification procedure takes a long time. Therefore, if you cannot wait a very long time, then you will need to find alternatives. However, you have to understand that if you are lucky enough to live in a state where the cost of detoxification is covered by Medicaid, this will not be a problem, but in most cases, it can be quite expensive.

Even if you do not qualify for Medicaid, most states will allow for you to stay sober existence in a group home if you are a senior citizen or a disabled veteran. These are not your only options, however, as you will have the option of staying in a hotel. It is also important to note that even if you are staying in a hotel, you are still expected to go through detoxification and detox treatment, which will most likely mean more days of wait time.

One of the advantages that you might like is that you will be able to make a big change in your life. Not only will you be able to change your lifestyle and how you live, but you will also be able to change your environment. While it might sound funny to say that someone could change their environment, the truth is that you can help yourself make a positive change to your surroundings by removing all the things that are causing you to use drugs and alcohol. Eliminating the usage of drugs and alcohol, as well as reducing the amount of times that you use drugs and alcohol, will definitely make a huge impact on your life.

You will also face some disadvantages, but the truth is that you can find solutions to overcome these disadvantages. First, if you use your family and friends for support during your detoxification period, then you will have a better chance of making it through and to succeed at rehab treatment. Secondly, you can bring along some supportive people who can help by giving you a hand when you have difficulties and by giving you encouragement and love.

Sometimes it is necessary to tell a loved one that you are trying to detox, but this does not mean that you should avoid telling them about the detoxification process. It is not always necessary to tell them every time, but they should know when you are going through detoxification, as well as when you are able to leave the hospital. This will not only help them understand that you are undergoing detoxification, but will also give them a sense of when you will be able to leave the detoxification process.



When you are involved in the detoxification process, it is important to note that the feelings that you experience are difficult to describe and there is no set way of describing it. Nevertheless, you should know that the feelings of sadness and isolation are the ones that you are most likely to experience when you go through detoxification. and you should be prepared for this feeling and made aware of the fact that it can last for several days.
